Valentines Day 2017: Outfit Inspiration

Friday, February 17, 2017

  Oh happy Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day is one of those debatable holidays. You have the people who really love them and go all out for their significant other, and others who could care less about another consumer driven holiday.

For me? My honest opinion? I believe that love is something that should be shown little by little every day. I've never been the type of girl who needed grand gestures or expensive gifts. I didn't have them growing up so it's nothing I would ever expect. I mean, yeah those things are nice but I don't believe it directly means or can dictate how much somebody truly loves you.

For me, love is about what you do without being told. Love is the little things, how you show your appreciation every single day. I'd like to think I'm good at that. I love spoiling my boyfriend with things of course, but I also just think the things I do from making sure his favorite snacks are stocked, or making him lunch just because or even random texts show my love even more. I think it's the little gestures that add up and sometimes I forget that too. However, it's nice to be loved. Appreciated. Care for. And even though I don't need Valentine's Day to get all that it's still nice to be thought of you know? I just think it's all about the effort. Some guys (and ladies) forget that.

So for my single ladies and gents, don't fret.

I believe love is something that will come at the right time. It's never perfect and if they tell you that the one you're meant to be with or love won't drive you crazy, won't challenge you, and it'll just be "happily ever ever", no work included - it's a lie.

Love is something you work on and build upon. It takes effort. Understanding (and plenty of fights) and even though my boyfriend and I are opposites. I'm the emotional one, and he could care less most of the time - somehow we make it work and even when he drives me insane or doesn't get it quite right at times I still love him. And I'm starting to learn that love is just accepting them for who they are and not expecting them to change. I also learned, the people love in different ways and it took me a while to accept that maybe love meant different things to different people and it's a lesson I'm constantly reminding myself in my current relationship. Above all, love takes times whether you're in a relationship or not. So remember that, and let it find you. You just keep being your darling, beautiful self in the meantime.
